#24: How to flatter your hairstylist.

Hi long lost loves!  March surely did come in like a lion, bringing with it a gaggle of gorgeous guests  and new friends!  I feel like I blinked and the month was already making its lamb-like exit.  Alas, I'm once again happy to report my chair is haute, J. Henry Salon has been HOPPING, and all is well in my world of hair.

Which brings me to something totally cool that happened in my chair last week.  It was the first time my new friend Sean had been into J. Henry Salon (or any hair salon) for a haircut by the referral of his girlfriend, Jessica.  I was excited to find out what we were going to do with Sean's shoulder length hair, and almost squeaked when Jessica pulled out some pictures of ideas they had printed.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  You guys don't even realize how amazing it felt to see my own work used as an inspiration reference!  PRINTED OUT ON PAPER!  Way too cool.  In efforts to stop me from geeking out about this any further, take a look at the before and after.

AFTER:

Sean's new high n' tight,
styled with L'Oréal Professionnel Architexture.

Thanks, Sean.  It was super fun cutting off all your hair.

Sincerely,
Meghan

See you all soon!

THE CUT: Meet the NEW Haircut for Spring

Hey there, hair-brained babes!  I hope you're hustling through the winter as I am.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it looks glorious:  SPRING!

Like all of us this time of year, my gorgeous friend Nell sat down in my chair wanting something new, fresh, and easy for her shoulder-skimming strands.  My impeccably stylish Nell did her assigned homework (always bring ideas for next time!!!) and showed me a few reference pictures of model Karlie Kloss' new cult classic haircut recently coined:

THE CHOP:

I have been DYING to do this cut since the Karlie was cropped at the beginning of the year.

This wildly modern, air-dryable bob is cut to encourage natural texture.  Depending on the shape of your face, this bangin' bob should fall between an inch to two inches below the jawline.  Light bangs and soft easy layers in the front make this chop an instant classic, and a perfect fit for fine-haired filles like Nell!

Styled with love and True Grip!

Nell's turn!  BEAUTIFUL!

Everyone's swooning over this swingy spring style:

So do your homework, bring some fresh ideas for spring, and come see me soon at J. Henry Salon!

Love, Meg

OB✴SESS✴ION:: CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP

FOR REAL, I MEAN IT!
I'm totally obsessed.  Its the only thing I want, nothing else will do!
What have I fallen to my knees over, dear friends?
TRUE GRIP.

Last entry featured the handsome hair at Timo Weiland F/W 2013, led by the INSPIRING L'Oréal Professionnel Artist Joseph DiMaggio.  The LP team styled the unfussy "feminine tomboy" tresses using the aforementioned powder texturizer True Grip.

Mr. DiMaggio and friends made waves by setting the hair with L'Oréal Professionnel Volume Expand Mousse and twisting into a bun.  After the hair was air-dried, True Grip was dusted throughout to create the sexy textured tousles.  I immediately wanted to wear this hair for always.

Luckily for me my mane comes pre-wavy, so I am conveniently able to skip the first step.  I air dry my strands in twisted tendrils that go in the direction of my natural wave, then tap True Grip around the bend of the head (the parietal ridge), and dust through the midlengths and ends.
Please don't make me stop:

I feel like I've been on a hot beachy hair vacation.  I'll snap back to reality soon, and when I do I think I'll try the Marc by Marc Jacobs' RTW FW'13:

FUN!

See you soon, sweethearts!
