OB✴SESS✴ION:: CAN'T STOP WON'T STOP

FOR REAL, I MEAN IT!
I'm totally obsessed.  Its the only thing I want, nothing else will do!
What have I fallen to my knees over, dear friends?
TRUE GRIP.

Last entry featured the handsome hair at Timo Weiland F/W 2013, led by the INSPIRING L'Oréal Professionnel Artist Joseph DiMaggio.  The LP team styled the unfussy "feminine tomboy" tresses using the aforementioned powder texturizer True Grip.

Mr. DiMaggio and friends made waves by setting the hair with L'Oréal Professionnel Volume Expand Mousse and twisting into a bun.  After the hair was air-dried, True Grip was dusted throughout to create the sexy textured tousles.  I immediately wanted to wear this hair for always.

Luckily for me my mane comes pre-wavy, so I am conveniently able to skip the first step.  I air dry my strands in twisted tendrils that go in the direction of my natural wave, then tap True Grip around the bend of the head (the parietal ridge), and dust through the midlengths and ends.
Please don't make me stop:

I feel like I've been on a hot beachy hair vacation.  I'll snap back to reality soon, and when I do I think I'll try the Marc by Marc Jacobs' RTW FW'13:

FUN!

See you soon, sweethearts!

#7// Marc Jacobs again!

#7 felt like cheating, I'm gonna be honest.

So fun, so easy, just do this I promise you'll love it.

Inspiration for challenge #7: MARC JACOBS Ready-to-Wear

The deepest side part and dark thick brows characterized the look at Marc Jacobs SS13 Ready-to-Wear.  Tease it big and tie it back.  Keep it messy, it translates as sexy when worn with such a "styled" style...you dig?  I wore mine in place of my usual lazy weekend topknot.  LOVE.

Told you, this is so easy its like cheating.  But its not, its just GORGEOUS.  Take your SS13 MJ look even further and wear this hair exclusively with BLACK&WHITE.  Way too cool.

┼ 6 :: 13 ┼

#6 of the 13 HAIR CHALLENGES FOR 2013 is BY FAR my fave.
Inspired by Herve Leger's spring '13 casual-chic half-braided style seen at NYFW.

I wish for someday my hair to be as beautiful as that first featured mane above.  Surprisingly this half-braided treat works on most braidable hairlengths.   If you can't french braid very well, simply pull your solo braid across as far as it can go.  Secure with bobby pins with plenty of hair from the other side to veil your ends.  Mine came out much better the second time I tried it, treating it more like a cornrow than a french.  But here's a pic of the first until I do it again!

How have you been liking the CHALLENGE so far?
Any looks your looking to try?
See you soon!

CHALLENGE #3 OF 13:: VENEXIANA

We meet again today for Hair Challenge #3 of 13!

INSPIRATION: Venexiana spring '13, NYFW.

Models, Venexiana spring '13 NYFW

The difficulty level of this simple looking style is surprisingly challenging.  My amazing friend, Karli, and I tried this one several times each before I finally had some luck with it over the weekend.  My shoulder length hair lacked the coiled impact of Venexiana's thick twists, but for my longer length lasses this is your lucky look.
Start by parting your hair down the middle.  Take one of your halves (tie the other off for now), and beginning at the temple twist up and back, gathering only from the hairline as you move towards the nape.  Secure your first twist with an elastic and repeat on the other side.  I'd be lying if I said getting these slick twists symmetrical was easy, so try not to get frustrated.  Bobby pins and hairspray can help you manipulate and match up your twists.  Take the pigtails you've created and meet them in the middle with a third elastic.  TOPSY-TAIL the pony you just made and pin loose ends into the crease of your coil.  TRY IT!

My Venexiana variation!

Show me what you're working with, my twisted sisters.  Share any trials and variations with me at: meghan.laura.harrington@gmail.com, and be featured here on THE BANG THEORY!

STAY TUNED, trusty theorists.
I've got 10 more treats to share with you before the month is over.

All my love,
Meghan

Happily ever (before and) after: Abby's Updated Ombré ♕

Dears and dolls, meet Abby.

SHUTUP, gorgeous always no matter what anytime UGH.

So I'd been wanting to overhaul darling Abby's old and overgrown ombré for quite some time.   The newest upgrade for ombré lovers is all about the blending and transition of color.  I'm dying for less drama between the roots and ends.  It can still be a strong, trendy look...just not so obvious.

AFTER:

Foils: 9.32 30 vol, lightener at hairline.
Gloss with: DiaRichess 2 parts 9.03, 1 part 9.3, 1 part 8
