#24: How to flatter your hairstylist.

Hi long lost loves!  March surely did come in like a lion, bringing with it a gaggle of gorgeous guests  and new friends!  I feel like I blinked and the month was already making its lamb-like exit.  Alas, I'm once again happy to report my chair is haute, J. Henry Salon has been HOPPING, and all is well in my world of hair.

Which brings me to something totally cool that happened in my chair last week.  It was the first time my new friend Sean had been into J. Henry Salon (or any hair salon) for a haircut by the referral of his girlfriend, Jessica.  I was excited to find out what we were going to do with Sean's shoulder length hair, and almost squeaked when Jessica pulled out some pictures of ideas they had printed.

Sean's reference photos:

Stevie

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!  You guys don't even realize how amazing it felt to see my own work used as an inspiration reference!  PRINTED OUT ON PAPER!  Way too cool.  In efforts to stop me from geeking out about this any further, take a look at the before and after.

Sean's new high n' tight,
styled with L'Oréal Professionnel Architexture.

Thanks, Sean.  It was super fun cutting off all your hair.

Sincerely,
Meghan

THE CUT: Meet the NEW Haircut for Spring

Hey there, hair-brained babes!  I hope you're hustling through the winter as I am.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and it looks glorious:  SPRING!

Like all of us this time of year, my gorgeous friend Nell sat down in my chair wanting something new, fresh, and easy for her shoulder-skimming strands.  My impeccably stylish Nell did her assigned homework (always bring ideas for next time!!!) and showed me a few reference pictures of model Karlie Kloss' new cult classic haircut recently coined:

THE CHOP:

I have been DYING to do this cut since the Karlie was cropped at the beginning of the year.

This wildly modern, air-dryable bob is cut to encourage natural texture.  Depending on the shape of your face, this bangin' bob should fall between an inch to two inches below the jawline.  Light bangs and soft easy layers in the front make this chop an instant classic, and a perfect fit for fine-haired filles like Nell!

Styled with love and True Grip!

Nell's turn!  BEAUTIFUL!

Everyone's swooning over this swingy spring style:

So do your homework, bring some fresh ideas for spring, and come see me soon at J. Henry Salon!

Love, Meg

PONYUP: 3 Ponytails I'm pining for ♥

FRIENDS,
Please forgive my absence.  Its that happily hectic holiday season, and I'm as busy as the next doll.
Here's a spot of what I've been up to:

Krista's chocolate raspberry shortie

HOTTFADE, ONFIREFRANCO

KRISTIN, this was way too much fun!

Kristin's inspriation!

NOW ABOUT THE PONY SITUATION:

I was cruising hair pics on google when I came across not 1, not 2, but 3 ponytails of perfection.

Jessica Alba

Kate Bosworth

Lauren Conrad

I love how solid Jessica Alba's minimal-yet-futuristic super long ponytail is.  I'd like to wear this any time I'd need to look way more put together than I am!  Kate Bosworth's playful pony is softly teased at the crown and left rough.  This is so cute and easy, and with the swipe of my flat iron I totally plan on smoothing my tail into this wispy look on the weekend.  I hate Lauren Conrad for having some of my dream hair.  Like sugarcoated tips, dip-dyed ends in hot pink are oh so sweet.

I WANT IT ALL.

Here's to hustlin' through the holidays, loves.
I'll check back in before its all over

See you soon,

Meg

Happily ever (before and) after: Abby's Updated Ombré ♕

Dears and dolls, meet Abby.

SHUTUP, gorgeous always no matter what anytime UGH.

So I'd been wanting to overhaul darling Abby's old and overgrown ombré for quite some time.   The newest upgrade for ombré lovers is all about the blending and transition of color.  I'm dying for less drama between the roots and ends.  It can still be a strong, trendy look...just not so obvious.

AFTER:

Foils: 9.32 30 vol, lightener at hairline.
Gloss with: DiaRichess 2 parts 9.03, 1 part 9.3, 1 part 8
